5 Techniques to Find Out the Gender of Your Ba
Article by Tess Moran
There are a number oif ways to discover the gender of your baby prior to birth. Well, you will in the end find out the gender when the baby is born–but it’s just so much more exciting when you do find out the gender before the baby is born. You know, it’s like we women have been waiting all our lives to have a baby and sometimes it’s just to difficult to wait!
Gender Prediction Method #1: Ultrasound
Although not 100%, ultrasound is one of the most effective ways to determine gender. One drawbach though, and that is to know the baby’s gender: you have to wait until the 20th week. Sometimes it can be done a few weeks before, but it will depend on your baby’s position, the placenta, and whether or not the ultrasound technician can get a good view of your baby’s private parts. So, it is pretty accurate, but it’s not for sure as there are other factors involved.
Gender Prediction Method #2: Amniocentesis
The amino of the inside of the womb is extracted through a needle is the procedure. It comes with a small chance of miscarriage rates (you’ll want to consult your doctor). This is one of the more invasive ways. They can also determine other factors about the pregnancy as well.
Gender Prediction Method #3: The Way You Carry the Baby
As an “old wives tale” you will hear from other “experienced” mothers, this method looks at how the baby is carried. Carried low, the mother is going to have a baby boy. A baby girl is predicted if the mother is carrying the baby higher. The wider the pregnant mother is, as well, the more likely it will be a baby girl.
Gender Prediction Method #4: Morning Sickness
Determining gender again is the “old wives tale” method based on morning sickness. You are pregnant with a boy if you don’t get sick in the beginning of your pregnacy. Morning sickness though the pregnancy will give you a girl. Again, remember it’s an old wives tale.
Gender Prediction Method #5: Heart Rate
Possibly considered one of the old wives tales of gender prediction, this method uses heart rate (beats per minute) to speculate which sex you’re having–boy or girl. If your baby’s beats per minute are 140 or less, the baby could be a boy. If the heart beat is more than 140 beats per minute, you could be pregnant with a baby girl.
